The
Eloy
City Code states, “No person shall allow their dog or
pet to go off of the property of the owner or to go upon any
public street, sidewalk, public park, or thoroughfare unless
restrained by a leash not more than six feet in length.”
In addition, all
dogs and cats residing in the city must have a current
rabies vaccination. All dogs that are 4 months of age
and older need to be wearing a city tag.
Eloy Animal Control
holds a low cost rabies vaccination clinic early each year,
usually in February. Check your
local newspaper for date, time, and costs. Licenses are
offered at this time; however, they may be purchased
year-round at the Finance Department after proof a
vaccination has been submitted.
Remember you are
your pet’s best friend so be sure that your pet has proper
identification (a city license) so it can be safely returned
to you in the event it becomes lost. Pets without a license
will only be held at the shelter for 72 hours. Tragically animals not
claimed in that time frame are generally euthanized.
